This is how I like to be led!

Profile: Employees without management functions

Essence: Many people work in hierarchically structured situations. Managers are expected to adapt to the needs of their employees, to lead effectively. If management does not function optimally, the manager must find a suitable solution.

Maybe there’s another way! Employees and managers participate in a cooperative solution and adjust to each other.

In this workshop-like training, employees develop their personal leadership requirements. They learn to present and represent the requirements in conversations with their manager, to reach an agreement so that they can say with full conviction: “That’s the way I like to be led!”

The training is also suitable for employees who want to prepare for an appraisal interview.

Methodology: Trainer input with discussion, individual, partner and group exercises, self-reflection, feedback, eLearning, processing of examples from the participants’ leadership environment.

Duration: 1 Day

Reflecting upon one’s own situation

  • My position within the company and in the hierarchy
  • Looking at the relationship with my manager
  • Understanding my role
  • My priorities and motivation
  • Understanding my manager’s situation

Leading and being led

  • Was is leadership?
  • What leadership styles are there?
  • How am I being led today?
  • What effect does this leadership have on me?
  • Am I satisfied or do I want to develop further?
  • What do I need from my manager?

Cooperative management discussions

  • Basics of conducting conversations
  • Giving feedback to my manager
  • Expressing and justifying wishes to my manager
  • What if we don’t come to an agreement?
  • Agreements are made, documented and implemented
